Another shot from yesterday on my Nexus 4. In addition to the new tripod, I got a couple of new filters the other day, so I was cleaning out and reorganizing my camera bag because there was really no reason for me to have a bunch of filters in there that don't even fit on my lenses. Now, I had this old digital camera in there which may actually be my very first camera. I kept it in the bag as a backup in the event that I ever ran out of battery on my D7000, but when I was inspecting the specifications on it, I realized that the camera on my Nexus 4 smartphone was actually better, at least as far as megapixels go (which we all know is in no way indicative of overall quality). I ultimately made the decision to leave the old thing out of my bag because honestly, there aren't really any situations that I'd come across in which I'd choose that over my phone if my primary camera died. Cool story, huh?
Now onto something more important. Wes Anderson has a new movie coming out! This is pretty cool news for me because I think he is an excellent filmmaker. His most recent work was Moonrise Kingdom, which I thought was a pretty fantastic movie, and if you haven't seen it, you totally should! His newest work, The Grand Budapest Hotel is due out on March 7th, 2014. Here's the trailer:
Dat cinematography. Dat cast. Dat surreal, absurd world that he creates in all of his films. He really is one of my favorite artists.
